"Bud" Fred Julian Hayes

“Bud” Fred Julian Hayes, 91, passed away on August 18, 2017 at Chinook Place in Madras.  There will be a visitation on Friday August 25, 2017 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home from 4 pm to 8 pm. A grave side service will be held on Saturday August 26, 2017 at Juniper Haven Cemetery at 11:00 am.  A reception will follow at Ochoco Creek Park.

Bud was born on January 2, 1926 to William and Gertrude (Odell) Hayes in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He had five brothers; Ben, Joe Ray, Paul, Elmo, and Junior. Bud also had three sisters; Dorothy, Evie and Shorty.

Bud married Violet Dean O’Dell and they had three daughters; Jackie, Tonie and Rebecca. Violet Dean passed away on April 28, 2001. He later married Delores Hyatt on April 11, 2004 and were married for 13 years.Bud worked on a ranch in Texas, then moved to Prineville working at Consolidated Lumber until his retirement.

Bud loved to fish, hunt and make model airplanes to display in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, late wife Dean Hayes, brothers; Paul, Elmo and Junior sisters; Evie and Shorty, daughter Tonie and step son Phillip Prince.

Bud is survived by his wife Delores Hayes of Madras, daughters; Jackie Gregor and Rebecca Haines of Prineville, brothers; Ben Hayes of Baker City and Jo Ray Hayes of Oklahoma, sister Dorothy Basham of Prineville. Bud has 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
