Lester Morris Hibbitts

Lester Morris Hibbitts, 74, of Prineville passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 11, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 22, 2016 at the Juniper Canyon Baptist Church (9180 SE Juniper Canyon Road) in Prineville at 11:00 A.M.  Pastor Brad Witbracht will be officiating.  There will be a potluck dinner to immediately follow service.

He was born the second eldest of 9 children to Luther and Sophia (Morris) Hibbitts on January 10, 1942 in London, Kentucky.

Lester enjoyed many things including traveling around the US, politics and never missed an opportunity to vote in any election. He loved his country serving in the National Guard from 1963-1969 and was extremely proud of the time he spent in the service.  He was employed by Coin Mill as a carpenter from 1962-1982 when the carpentry crew was disbanded, he was then immediately employed as a millwright and worked in this capacity until he retired in 2004. Lester worked continuously for over 40 years and only missed 4 days of work.  He was an extremely dependable and dedicated man. 

His hobbies included working in his shop fabricating everything from motorcycles, tractors and airplanes.

Lester was preceded in death by his brother Chester, father Luther, mother Sophia

Lester is survived his son Lester Hibbitts Jr., his daughter Tonya Howard, his legacy lives on with his two grandchildren Cameron Alford and Brogan Howard, four brothers; Everett, Lonnie, Eddie and Donnie, three sisters; Carolyn, Ruby and Penny.
