Arthur Louis Welch

Arthur L. Welch, 100, of Prineville passed away on January 2, 2019.  He was born in New York City, New York to John Clifford and Elsie (Hinchman) Welch.  He grew up in New York and came to Prineville in 1935 with his Civilian Conservation Corps.  In 1939 he married Eva Roberts.  They had two children Robert and Karen.  Eva passed away in 1969. Later he married Thelma Sue (Carver) McReynolds. 

During World War II, he served three years in the Navy Seabees Construction Battalion.  In his early years he was an avid sportsman.  He was a member of the Prineville Golf & Country Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles, BPOE and the Nazarene Church.

For many years, he was in the body and fender business. Later, he partnered with Bob Nendel at the A & B Body Shop..

He enjoyed carpentry, building and repairing old clocks and working on golf carts.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Pierce: step daughter Susan McReynolds; granddaughter, LaDonna (Steve) Beard, grandsons Steve (Marla) Pierce, Wes, Bobby and Pete Pierce; also many great- and great-great grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers ; both wives; son; grandson, Kent Pierce and great-grandson, Tyler Pierce.
