Gerald Wayne Poling, 87, of Prineville passed away on Friday November 8, 2019 in Redmond, Oregon. There will be a graveside service on Friday November 15, 2019 at Juniper Haven Cemetery (1555 North Main Street) at 2:00 PM. Pastor Tollie Rogers of the Ascent Church will be officiating.
Gerald was born on July 17, 1932 in Eldon, Missouri to John and Dora (Fricke) Poling. He was the youngest of 10 children.
He had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and horseback riding. Gerald had moose hunted in Canada and Idaho. Buffalo hunted in Montana, elk and deer hunted in Oregon and Idaho. He was proud of the taking forty elk in his lifetime. We all called him an elk slayer. He also enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Jarvis and son Jerry (Teri) Poling, grandkids Heather Hayes, Ashley Jarvis, Britton Hurst and Crystal Schlaht and twelve great grand children.
