Paul Robert Williams

Paul Robert Williams, 88, of Prineville passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2018.  A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home (3168 NE 3rd Street) at 11:00 AM.  Pastor Dan Park will be officiating.

Paul was born on August 23, 1930 to Edwin Calhoun and Clara Ruth (Gaines) Williams in East Los Angles, California.  As a teen he was a grave digger and tree surgeon to help support his mother and family.  He graduated from Garfield High School in California. He joined the US Navy in July of 1950 and served until April of 1954.  He served his country during the Atomic War as a Machinist Mate Second Class stationed on the USS Curtiss AV4 seaplane tender. 

Paul married Kathleen (Strong) on January 1, 1966.  He was a truck driver and warehouseman before retiring in 1991 and moving to Prineville.  Paul was a member of the Prineville Elks Lodge #1814, Veterans and Prineville Band Of Brothers.

He had many hobbies that included; being an artist, jewelry making, loved working with wood, cooking, golf and gardening.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.  He was the last surviving sibling of 7 children.

Paul is survived by his wife Kathleen of Prineville, Son Michael Edwin Williams (from a previous marriage) of Las Vegas, Nevada, niece Mary Lou Brown of Bakersfield, California, two grandchildren; Keith Edwin Williams and Michael Paul Williams, two great-grandchildren; Korey Williams and Jordan Williams and one great-great grandchild; Axton Williams.
