Truman Dale Stewart, 79, passed away Nov. 9, 2018, at his home in Prineville. There will be a graveside service Friday November 30, 2018 at Juniper Haven Cemetery (1555 N Main Street) at 10:00 AM.
He was born Oct. 24, 1939, to Mitchell and Ola (Hamby) Stewart in Lancing, Tennessee. The family moved to Prineville in 1950, where he attended Crook County schools. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and served three years in Germany before returning to Prineville in 1962. He immediately went to work at COIN Millworks and retired after 34 years. Truman was an avid hunter and fisherman but spent most of his spare time on his favorite hobby of restoring classic cars.
He married JoAnn Chambers in 1964. They had two children, Steven Lee Stewart and Tera Marie (Stewart) Adamson.
Truman is survived by his former wife, JoAnn Lewis; son Steven Stewart; daughter Tera and husband, Corey Adamson; sister, Tresi and husband, Ron Surplus; and granddaughter, Addyson Stewart, all of Prineville. He is also survived by a large, loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mitchell and Ola Stewart; brother, Ricky Stewart; and niece LeAnne Hollis.
