Carl Hall Obituary

Carl Wayne Hall was carried by angels on his journey to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 69 years.

Carl was born in Prineville, Oregon, on August 30, 1954, to Julia Ann and Luther Stafford. In 1958 Julia Ann married Melvin Duane Hall and they became a family.

From a young age Carl enjoyed the peace and tranquility including the hard work of country life! He loved doing anything that required him to be around horses. From taking care of them, training them, to riding them. From a toddler to early and late teens Carl spent many summers and any other time he could at his grandparents’ farm in Kimberly, Oregon above the North Fork of the John Day River. There he enjoyed fishing the river, riding his horse everywhere, including riding to the Kimberly store with his brother Steve, helping his grandfather and grandmother out on the farm and hunting up Rudio Mountain and Holmes Creek. He reminisced and talked fondly of The Starwalt’s across the river. Carl also worked on numerous ranches.

Carl joined the Army in 1974. He was stationed in Korea as a Combat engineer in 1975 and that is where he met and married Sun Pok Hall. After serving his country for 3 years he returned to Prineville, Oregon in the late months of 1976 to start and raise his family.

Carl climbed mountains and crossed rivers throughout his lifetime. He found his internal strength and wrestled back when life tried to take him down in later years. Although he could not speak and communicate well due to health problems, he laughed silently with his mouth wide open! Carl loved his family and friends. Carl surpassed a doctors life expectancy by over a decade and then some, which is pretty much proof that “only God knows”.
