Darryl K. "Bo" Tubbs, 80, of Prineville passed away at his home on Friday, April 9, 2021. There will be no public service at this time, a memorial gathering will take place and will be announced at a later date. Darryl "Bo" was born on January 14, 1941 to Harold Bennett and Mary Magdalene (Koon) Tubbs in West Branch, Michigan. Darryl attended High School in Caro, Michigan, after that he went on to the Michigan Technological University. He joined the US Army and was stationed in Costa Rica. He served from 1965 to 1967. He worked for the US Forest Service, the Prineville branch retiring in 1990.
He was very interested in genealogy, he researched and built an extensive family history going back multiple generations. He loved motorcycle riding in his younger days and driving the back roads of Crook County and Central Oregon in his older years. He enjoyed finding and identifying wildflowers and reading. Darryl was an expert listener and will be missed by many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Alice Ashbury and Delores Swenson, and his beloved dog, Meghan.
Darryl is survived by his sister, Beverly Sue (Wally) Swenson of Minnesota, his brother, Terry Tubbs of Michigan, many nieces and nephews and his surrogate family: Sandy and Oakley Ott of Prineville, Amy Kenny of Boise, Idaho, Brent and Baylee Bannon of Prineville, Edwin and JoEllen Baack of Beaverton, Steven Baack of Terrebonne, Sheila Baack of Oregon City, Stuart (Kim) Baack of Salt Lake City, Utah, Laurie Bevins and family.
