Dean Binning, 95, of Prineville passed away on Monday July 15, 2019. There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at the Juniper Haven Cemetery (1555 N Main Street) at 10:00 AM. Dean was born on June 23, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa to Otis and Florence Elizabeth (Stout) Binning. He was the only son to Otis and Florence Binning. After Otis’s passing, Florence married Louis Binning and the family moved to Myrna, Wyoming at the foot of the beautiful Teton Mountains. Dean attended school there and spent his younger years working on various ranches in Wyoming.
In 1954 Dean moved to Prineville, Oregon and went to work for Pine Products Corp. and was employed there for 40 years, retiring when the mill closed.
He had a passion for planes, trains and chocolate ice cream. He loved going to museums and was an avid reader of books on history and geography and had quite a collection of them.
In 1955 Dean married Lois Blakely, she passed away in 1990. Dean then married Juanita “Scottie” Wilson in 1995.
Dean was preceded in death by his first wife, father, mother, step father, two brothers, a step-son and his twin sister.
He is survived by his wife Scottie, step-son Ray Blakely and step-daughter Sue Blakely, both of Norfolk, VA, step-daughter-in-law Emily Blakely of Sutherlin, OR, step-son Patrick (Andrea) Wilson of Prineville, OR and several nieces and nephews.
