Frances “Fran” Marie Mead, age 70, of Prineville, Oregon passed away on April 1, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon.
Fran was born on December 11, 1949 to Eugene Joseph Berdine and Lillian Rennee Ahlstrom. She attended Wenatchee High School and graduated in 1968. Fran was a "jack of all trades". She worked as a "candy striper" as a teen, counted bacteria colonies under a microscope, worked in a candy factory, soldered circuit boards and eventually worked in production and retired from Georgia Pacific.
She was a talented quilter and made amazing keepsake quilts for her friends and family. Her legacy will live on for years to come through her beautiful creations. She loved antiques, her beloved husband of 49 years, her brother and sister, her children and especially her five grandchildren. She made the world's best frosted sugar cookies and had a wonderful, silly sense of humor that will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by her sister Patricia (Berdine) Isaacson, her brother Marty (and Mary) Berdine, her son Christopher (and Noele) Mead, daughter Tricia (and Christopher) Distifeno and her five grandchildren: Jacob Mead, Emma Distifeno, Will Distifeno, Nolan Mead and Graysen Mead.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Joseph Berdine and Lillian Rennee Ahlstrom Berdine and sisters, Gail Berdine and Paula Berdine.
