Glen Griffith, 89, of Prineville, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on March 23, 2026. He was born on October 29, 1936, in Baker, Oregon, to Frank and Zella Griffith. He grew up both in eastern Oregon and in Utah. He graduated from high school in Union, Oregon in 1956, and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served from
1956-1960 based out of Quonset Point,
Rhode Island.
He married Betty Aldrich on November 8, 1957, and they were married for 57 years until her death in 2014. Glen spent many years as a meat cutter. He and Betty moved to Prineville in
1972 when they purchased Crooked River Meat Co. They were also owners of Griff Quality Sounds and Western Auto in Prineville. Glen retired from the Crook County School District
as a custodian. As business owners, they were members of the Chamber of Commerce and were active as 4-H dog leaders for many years. Glen was always a familiar face at the
4-H/FFA auction and loved supporting kids. Glen and Betty were active in both the Redmond and Prineville trap clubs and were lifetime members of the Redmond Trap Club. He was a member of the Prineville Band of Brothers, enjoyed cooking men’s breakfast at the
Community Church and after Betty died, he started the GriefShare ministry that is ongoing to this day. He was an active member of
Prineville Bible Church at the time of his death.
Glen is survived by his five children, Charlotte (Jerry) Ralls of Redmond, Colette (Kevin) Black of Maumelle, AR, Charlene (Charlie) Walker of Prineville, Jeff (Amanda) Griffith of Bend, Dwight Griffith of North Little Rock, AR; as well as 10 grandchildren,
