Franklin ”Frank” Miles Puddy, 65, of Prineville passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on Tuesday May 28, 2019. There will be a memorial service at St. Andrew Episcopal Church(807 E. 1st Street) on June 7, 2019 at 6:30 PM. Rev. Steve Uffelman will be officiating. Frank was born on July 14, 1953 in Prineville, Oregon to Miles Alfred and Mary Jane (McCoy) Puddy. His early years were spent farming on the family property. He later worked for the Forest Service seasonally in recreation and timber sale prep. He worked at the feedlot in Athena in off season. He became a permanent Forest Service employee and worked in Hebo, Unity, Chiloquin, Silver Lake and Paisley. His greatest pride, and sometimes joy, was in his work. His greatest passion was for managing the forest vegetation. Frank retired in 2008.
Frank enjoyed outside activities such as traveling, fishing, hunting, x-country skiing and snowmobiling. He was an avid firearms enthusiast and could tell you loading information for almost any but and gun. He received great pleasure from his pets; many dogs and cats. He had even trained his black shepherd, Duke, to herd, his meat goat herd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miles Alfred Puddy.
Frank is survived and greatly mourned by his wife of 36 years, Sue, who also worked for the Forest Service and they were a strong team. His mother Mary Jane McCoy, brother, Jon Puddy, sisters; Rebecca Puddy and Sandra Neal and many nieces and nephews.
