Gerald “Jerry” Lester Grover, 67, of Prineville passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St Charles Medical Center in Bend, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on June 14, 1951 to James and Helen (Barnes) Grover in Prineville, Oregon. Jerry attended school in Prineville, graduating from Crook County High School in 1969.
After High School, Jerry enlisted in the US Air Force, and served as an Aircraft Mechanic based in Charleston, SC from 1970-1974. When he returned home, he met Pamela Fox and they were married in Prineville, on September 11, 1976. Jerry and Pam were married for almost 43 years and were blessed with 2 children- Jeremy in 1978 and Susan in 1979.
Jerry worked for Consolidated Pine for 18 years, and later Woodgrain Millworks where he retired in 2013.
He loved to collect coins and metal detecting, rock-hounding, camping, hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, panning for gold, boating, playing cards and was always making everyone laugh. Family was everything to him and he especially loved his time with his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife Pam, son Jeremy (Mystie) Grover, daughter Susan (Tavis) Fenske, Brother Mike (Nancy) Grover and sister Patty McGuire. Grandchildren, Colby, Hayden, Kyler, Alex, Austin, and Jana. One great-grandson, Issack, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father James Grover, his mother Helen Mohler, step-father Roy Mohler, and grandson Nicholas Hammell.
Everyone who knew and loved Jerry is invited to his Celebration of Life on Friday August 10th, 2018 at 2pm at the Prineville Church of the Nazarene.
