Glenda Petty Obituary

Glenda Darlene Petty, Age 72, of Prineville, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2024.

Glenda was born on December 27, 1951, to Arthur and Lillian Reynvaan in Prineville. She had 9 brothers and sisters, as well as many foster kids being cared for over the years in her parents’ home. Being one of the youngest, Glenda learned to be tough and feisty, which she carried on into her adult life, as anyone that knew her would agree.

Glenda graduated from Crook County High School in 1970, and then went on to work many different types of jobs including mill work at Clear Pine Moulding, customer service/cashier at 7-11 and bartending at the Pioneer Club, where she met her husband Don. In 1986, she enrolled at Phagen’s Beauty College in Bend, Oregon, where she earned her license as a Nail Technician, working at Bogey’s Hair Care and then later out of her home. When that proved to be too difficult, due to her Parkinson’s disease, she went to work as a clerk at Terry’s Jewelry to fill her days.

Don and Glenda were married in 1976, in Winnemucca, Nevada. During their life together they raised 4 children, while also taking in and caring for numerous foster children.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Lillian Reynvaan, her husband, Don Petty, her siblings Beverly Koco, Duane Reynvaan, Karen Warner, Robert Reynvaan, Roy Reynvaan and James Reynvaan. She is survived by her siblings Bill Reynvaan, Sharon Reynvaan and Linda Benzon, her children, Travis Wolf, Karen Wilkinson, Shawn (Melissa) Petty and Trina Petty, as well as 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Glenda was a friend to anyone that knew her. She was deeply loved and greatly respected by friends and family. She fought a tough battle the last several years of her life, longer than anyone should have to. She knew she was ready to go Home. So, with her family surrounding her, telling stories and playing music she loved, she was finally able to rest in peace.

A memorial service for Glenda will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 333 SE Idlewood St., Prineville, Oregon. There will be a luncheon directly following the service.
