The tribute below sums up Harold's life, it was written by Thomas Huestis, Harold's Stepson and longtime friend:
I thank the wisdom of a great man, to help me keep perspective...and understand what is important...gonna miss the ole man, Harold Mangum, your guidance and clarity are going to be sorely missed. I'm sad to say that I can't see the world with the optimism you had.
Harold is survived by his wife Vicki, Sons; Richard, Thomas and Kendal, grandchildren; Johnothon, Jacob, Anthony and Jordan, and his first great grandchild, James Thomas.
