Harry "Wes" Wesley Nichols, 71, of Prineville passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. There will be a celebration of Life on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church (450 SE Fairview Street- Prineville). There will be a potluck reception to follow after the service at Hank and Cathie Baxter's home (1728 NW Madras Hwy- Prineville). Wes was born September 14, 1949, to Jack and Evelyn (Alder-Cooley) Nichols in McMinnville Oregon. He grew up in Sandy Oregon and graduated from Sandy Union High School in 1968. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carole York in May 1969. They soon moved to Prineville Oregon in 1971 where they raised their three boys: Cody, Josh, and Levi.
Wes was active in the timber industry and later went to work for Less Schwab where he retired in 2004 after 22 years of service.
Wes was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, and fishing with family and friends. He grew up fishing for steelhead on the Sandy River and was always up for a trip to the woods and a camping trip to Hells Canyon. Wes had a love for motorcycles that started the day he got his license and even got to experience Sturgis with his son Cody in 2003.
Wes was always honest and hard-working; a man of his word. Even working during high school to help support his family. Wes loved his family more than anything.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Carole; Sons: Cody (Laurie), Josh (Faith), Levi (Sheila); Grandchildren: Jaiden, Hunter, Kylie, Kohen, and Kooper.
Wes is preceded in death by his father Jack, mother Evelyn, sister Linda, brother Roger, and sister Julia.
