Rev. James Kenneth “Ken” Pack, 92, of Prineville passed away on Saturday July 29, 2017 at his home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at the Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel (3168 NE 3rd Street ~ Prineville) from 4 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday August 3, 2017 at the Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel at 9:30 a.m. with interment immediately following at Juniper Haven Cemetery (1555 N Main Street ~ Prineville). Pastor Terry Goodwin will be officiating.
Ken served in the Army during WWII. He pioneered and pastored many churches in Oregon, worked in the lumber industry, was a Chaplain Minister for adult care facilities in Idaho and most recently in Prineville.
He enjoyed his family, reading out loud, especially the Bible, singing and taking long walks.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife Martha Jeannette Pack, his parents; John Roy and Mary Josephine (Walker) Pack, two brothers; William Cletis and Willard Clint Pack, and great grandson John Wesley Owens Jr.
He is survived by his four children; Patsy Owens, Alice Freelund, Roy Pack and Mary Chapman and their mother Imagean Pack McCoy, four children that he helped raise; Katie Bostic, Don Dunn, Debra Kyles and Tim Dunn, four brothers; Lelis, Fay, Larry and Don Pack, three sisters; Ida Carr, Pearlie Harmon and Gwindlee Driskill.
Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
