Karol Stockton Obituary

Karole Stockton went home to be with Jesus on May 19, 2022, at the age of 85.

Karole was born on April 2, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been in Prineville so long, she used to say she had been here longer than the rocks and water. She was well-known in the community, belonging to many organizations, including Lions Club, the Soroptimists, CASA, Search and Rescue, and COCOA.

She had many jobs around here, everything from checking groceries at Erickson's Sentry to tending bar. She managed Friday’s tavern, she worked for Edward Jones, Central Oregonian, and Crestview Cable. She also worked at the state capitol for Lynn Lundquist. Karole even once earned a Lifetime Achievement award for the many things she has done.

Karole enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, barbecues, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, even the ones that adopted her. She was a “mom” to all her kids’ friends as well.

Karole is preceded in death by her longtime companion, John Paine, and her son Kevin Stockton. Survivors include sons, Ken and Keith Stockton and Casey Paine; daughter, Terri Stockton and her husband Gordon Dennis; grandchildren, Jason, Keith Katrina and Christian Stockton, Garret and Alaira Dennis and John Paine; and great-grandchildren, Amyrra and Isaiah Stockton and Natiea, Ashlyn and Jace Dennis.

A celebration of life will be held to honor Karole at a later date (please watch the paper for details of that).
