Kenneth "Bud" Harlan Taylor

Kenneth “Bud” Taylor, 88, of Mitchell passed away on Thursday November 24, 2016 at his home.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lower Mitchell Cemetery.  Pastor Carl Naas will be officiating.

Bud was born on October 27, 1928 in Iowa Park, Texas to Jay and Lovie (Myles) Taylor.  He attended Texas A.M. University for animal husbandry.  He married Jean Miles on June 7, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona.  They moved to Mitchell in 1957 from El Centro, California and purchased the Gable Creek Ranch.  He semi-retired from ranching and 1982 and then worked as a carpenter till 2012.

Bud enjoyed reading, traveling and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd (WWII), his wife in 2012 and 2 sons; Jay and Pete.

Bud is survived by his sons; Robert Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada, John Taylor of Soldotna, Alaska and daughter Brandi Taylor of Redmond, Oregon, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
