Landon Hunter Blood, a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on 25 June 2022 at his home in Prineville, Oregon.
Landon was born on 5 May 1998 in Salmon, Idaho. It was there that he discovered his love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, and riding snowmobiles and dirt bikes through the mountains. When he was nine, he moved to Wilsonville, Oregon never leaving his country roots behind. He graduated from Wilsonville High School in 2016 and left for Marine Corps Recruit Training, San Diego shortly after. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed with the 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Hansen Okinawa, and later with the Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California. He held numerous military driver’s licenses and was a graduate of Jungle Warfare Training and the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Academy. His decorations include the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Certificate of Appreciation, Letter of Appreciation, Expert Rifle Qualification Badge (3), and Expert Pistol Qualification Badge (1). After his service contract ended, he started working in HVAC and was employed by Tri-Tech Heating and Cooling, Vancouver, Washington, and later with Mountain View Heating and Cooling, Bend, Oregon when he moved to Prineville.
Landon is survived by Scott Blood (father), Melanie Sonnen (mother), Justice Blood (Dreyvhon Stewart), Olivia (Willi) Neibaur (sisters), Tharren Blood, and Garret Sonnen (brothers), and Axeton Stewart (nephew) along with many more family and friends. His kind heart, goofiness, and silly sense of humor will be missed by those that had the privilege of knowing him. He is gone but these memories will live in our hearts and carry us until we see him again. He is preceded in death by Paul Sonnen (stepfather).
