Marjorie Annette Wornell

Annette Wornell passed away on January 8th, 2023 in Redmond, OR., after a long battle with dementia.

Annette was born on August 28th, 1936 in Denver, CO., to Omar and Marjorie Coleman.  The early 1970’s saw Annette and Husband Billie Lee Wornell discovering Mitchell, OR., where they purchased and operated the Texaco Service Station.  Billie passed away and Annette remained in Mitchell, OR.

With a small son to care for, found employment at Schnee Grocery and Sidewalk Cafe.

Eventual she worked as city clerk and water master. Annette volunteered for any cause that needed help, Wheeler County Transportation, Spray Rodeo, and others when she had extra time.  Also she trained as an EMT and served on the Mitchell Ambulance.

Annette enjoyed reading, sewing, photography and of course her pets.

Annette is survived by son Lynn (Debbie) Fletcher , Pleasanton, CA; Daughter-in-Law Nocona Soboleski, Visalia, CA.; Grandchildren Jason (Elicia) Jacobs; Christopher (Kathleen) Jacobs; Curtis Polston, Degan Polston and Chelsey Frost.  Annette also is survived by six Great Grandchildren.

Annette was preceded in death by husband Billie L Wornell and a son Dean Curtis Polston.

Graveside services will be held at West Branch Cemetery at 11:00am on January 30th. A memorial Luncheon following services at the Mitchell Baptist Church. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mitchell Ambulance Fund, 202 SW High ST., Mitchell, OR 97750.
