Marvin “Vic” Hammack of Prineville/Hampton/Myrtle Point, Oregon, passed away Saturday December 24, 2022, at the age of 63 in Bend, Oregon. After suffering from a brain infection, Vic died peacefully with his beloved wife Melinda and their children by his side.
Vic was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon, on December 27, 1958, to his father Marvin Harold Hammack and mother, Verna Jeanne (Davenport) Hammack. The oldest of five children, Vic graduated in 1977 from Myrtle Point High School. He helped on his grandfather’s farm and worked many odd jobs he could find starting at an early age. Vic loved being outdoors, camping, hunting, taking jeep trips, his children, and grandchildren. Vic was a wealth of information, knowledge and loved teaching all of it to others.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents and by his twin infant sisters. He is survived by his wife Melinda (Proffitt) Hammack; children Katelyn & Tyler Sutherland-Redmond OR, Joseph & Katherine Hammack-Tenmile, OR and Lindsey & Ryan Hartje-Terrebonne, OR, Step-Son Beau & Megan Davis, grandchildren Lyam Hartje, Paisley Hammack, Hannah Hartje and Sawyer Hammack. Siblings Toni & Darren Fults and Traci and Tracy Byrd of Myrtle Point, OR and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service for Vic is planned for Saturday April 15th, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 pm. The memorial service will be at the Coos County Fairgrounds Myrtle Point, OR in the 4-H & FFA barns. Please bring chairs. All family and friends are invited to attend.
