Marvin was born on August 28, 1940 in Carlton, Oregon to Lloyd and Marie (Zouner) Peters. He attended McMinnville High School, graduating in 1958.

He married Sharon Lee Kronbuegel in September of 1961. Together they raised two children, Daryl and Gina. Marvin worked as a stores clerk for the state of Oregon. He also owned and operated the Post store and was Post Master of the Post Office there.

Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing camping and bird watching all with his beloved dog, Lady.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Maxine Peters-Rice and Virginia Peters-Fjelland and a grandson, David Lloyd Guerin.

Marvin is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Sharon Peters, son Daryl Peters, daughter Gina Peters-Mumey, grandson Robert Guerin and great-grandson Riley Guerin.
