Norm will always be best known for his easy going personality and good-natured personality. Norm grew up in Camp Sherman and Portland Oregon, raised a family in Lebanon, Oregon and spent a number of years in California before settling in Prineville Oregon for his retirement years.
Norm was also a veteran of the Korean war, serving in the Army he had the rank of Staff Sargent. He spoke rarely of his service other than of the close relationships he had developed while in service.
Norm’s passion, as most people were aware, was aviation, through the years Norm worked to acquire his Private, Commercial, Instrument and Certified flight instructor ratings. He also was a certified Airframe and powerplant mechanic with inspection authorization.
Norm spent much of his time in the care and restoration of his classic cars and his prize possession a 1941 Beechcraft Staggerwing aircraft which he flew to many locations around the country including Alaska. He so much enjoyed and was proud to being a part and an early member of the Staggerwing Club and Beechcraft Museum foundation.
