Patricia "Patty" Elizabeth (Whiteman) Monk Gibson

Patricia “Patty” Elizabeth Gibson, 92, of Prineville passed away on December 1, 2016 at home peacefully  due to pulmonary fibrosis.  A service will be held on Thursday December 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel (3168 NE 3^rd Street). Interment will follow the funeral services at Juniper Haven Cemetery (1555 N Main Street).  Patricia will be buried next to her son Christopher and her husband Cyon J. Gibson.

Patty  was born on July 8, 1824 to William and Matilda (Brown) Whiteman in  Kilburn Derbyshire, England.  She moved to Prineville in 1998 with her husband Cyon and son Christopher.  She made Prineville her home for the last 18 years.  Patty was a nurse most of her life, she worked during the World War driving cranes and being a nurse.  She also worked in physical therapy.

She enjoyed knitting, gardening, she loved animals of any kind, especially dogs.  She loved Prineville so much, the climate, the people, the Ochocos, she never wanted to leave and she got her wish she passed away in Prineville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cyon J. Gibson and her son Christopher.

Patty is survived by her son Phillip Pilgrim in Derbyshire, England, her daughters Virginia Reynolds and Velda O’Brien, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and Kelly Baxter her great granddaughter who moved from California to be with her the last 6 months.
