Robert Van Norsdall Obituary

Robert Terry Van Norsdall, age 68, passed away on March 26, 2020 at his residence in Prineville, Oregon. There will no public services at this time.

Robert was born on August 27, 1951 in French Camp, California to Roy Wayne and Thelma Loraine (Coose) Van Norsdall. He attended and graduated from Linden High School. In 1968, Robert married Shirley Ann Huggins in Nevada. This marriage ended in divorce in 1982. He worked for the Stockton California Railway and the City of Prineville Railway.

Robert enjoyed going to Prineville Reservoir on the weekends, camping and waterskiing. He raised pigs, rabbits and chickens. He would cut wood for the winter and went camping in the summer. He loved working on cars. He also loved for his family to be together on holidays. Robert always helped people in need and would give them the shirt off his back. Some of Robert’s accomplishments include obtaining his fire fighting certificate and diesel mechanic certification. He was also proud of his driver’s license.

Robert is survived by his children: Robert A. Van Norsdall of Andover, Kansas; Susan Loraine Van Norsdall, Talina Shantel Van Norsdall and Jason Paul Van Norsdall, all of Prineville, Oregon. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Van Norsdall; and his siblings: Jody, Thelma Jean and Billy Monday.
