Roger Arden Hedge, 80, of Prineville, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
We lost a sweet old guy the other day. He passed away and is in route to the big Pickle Ball court in the sky. I want you all to rest easy knowing that he met his end peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by a large robust family and many friends from California to Oregon.
I’ll miss him, he was a sweet guy, full of vinegar that guy. Just the other day he told me he had a great year and was thankful and looking forward to having a great 2022. He was fully retired and very active! He played Pickleball like a fiend 4 days a week. He beat me on the courts, once. I told him I let him win and he looked at me, smiled broadly and walked off the court. He had grace in my defeat.
Roger started a Chess Club in Prineville. I called them Rogers Renegades. They played in the park until the weather turned and then negotiated a room in the local rec center. He was proud of his little team and never missed a day and the opportunity to crush the competition.
Roger the singer. He never missed a beat. He sang karaoke his way from Prineville to Redmond. I have to admit that he reached legendary status amongst his fellow songbirds. I joined him on several occasions, it was clearly a passion. I think he was reliving the glory days of years passed. He was a presence on those little stages and people always appreciated his efforts.
Goodbye old friend, love you. You will be missed. It was a pleasure knowing you.
