Susan Diane Williams Danison, 72, of Prineville, Oregon, passed away on June 15, 2026 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 20,1953, in Bend where she attended school. Susan was the daughter of Max and Rachel Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Renee (Williams) Gardener. She is survived by her son, Cameron Eli Danison of Prineville; her cherished grandson, Griff; and her brother, Max Williams of Beaverton along with many nieces and nephews.
Susan spent most of her adult life in the Prineville area. Susan dedicated more than 40 years of her life to public service with the United States Forest Service, retiring in 2016. She worked on the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests, living both at Rager and Ochoco ranger stations before moving to Prineville. Along with her regular duties, she served on an Incident Management Team, responding to wildland fires and other emergencies across the nation.
In retirement, Susan poured her heart into the people and passions she treasured most, her family. She was an avid reader and a devoted member of a long-standing book club, sharing her love of literature with friends and family. She regularly joined her friends traveling to new and interesting places. Susan also gave generously of her time to the local meal program serving those in need. Susan will be honored at a private family service at Whispering Pines Funeral Home and will be interred at Juniper Haven in Prineville.
