Vivian Alma Mae Kimble-Cox On March 14, 2022, Vivian Alma Mae Kimble-Cox passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Alma was born in Prineville, Oregon on June 3, 1936, to Lester and Opal Winkle. She graduated from Crook County High School as Valedictorian. She moved to Brookings, Oregon where she married Robert (Bob) Kimble and had three children. Alma is survived by her children, Rebecca (Robin) Borum of Woodbridge, Virginia, Neil Kimble of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Lennie (Stuart) Hartwell of Arley, Alabama. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Caleb and Brandon Kimble of Colorado and Riley and Shaun Hartwell of Alabama and by two great grandchildren Timothy and Haley Kimble of Colorado. Alma is also survived by her companion of 20 years, Gary Pierce of Prineville, Oregon. Alma and Bob were active with the square dancers and bowled on various leagues together. In her spare time, Alma enjoyed crocheting, bead work, cross-stitch, latch-hook and traveling. Alma is remembered in Brookings for her time as the Organist at First Presbyterian Church, school bus trainer and driver and piano accompanist at Azalea Middle School and Brookings Harbor High School, as well as a piano teacher. She actively supported the Elks lodge and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. In 1983 Alma and Bob took to the road driving an 18-wheeler for Interstate Trucking. Alma continued to drive truck alone after Bob’s passing in 1991. In 2003, Alma returned to Prineville where she volunteered in the museum, played cards, and enjoyed the outdoors with Gary.
