WILLIAM (BILL) H.BITNER,III passed away April 15, 2026 at Hospice House in Bend Oregon. William was born in Jackson, Michigan on 01/20/1943 to William H. Bitner, Jr. and Iva M. (Pickell) Bitner. He was born one of a family of 11 children.
William moved from Michigan to Oregon in May of 1988 where he met his wife.
William married Phyllis (Heater) Lee on September 6, 1988 in Winnemucca, Nv. They made their home in Prineville, Oregon.
William retired from the Brightwood Millwork Plant in Redmond Oregon in January of 2008.
William was a member of Prineville First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis and seven children: Michelle Weaver of Prineville, Michael Lee of Colorado, Frank Bitner ,Patsy Suojanan, Robin Mae, Scott Bitner, and Doug Bitner all in Arkansas. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren as well as 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
William loved to spend time with his grandchildren, teaching them to ride bikes, fish, and dance among many other things. His wife and family were the joy of his life. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and storytelling.
Memorial service will be held Saturday April 25, 2026 at 11:00am at the First Assembly of God Church located at 835 S. Main St Prineville, Oregon.
